A champion can win a race. A bloodline can shape your Loft for generations. Pair with a purpose, combine inherited potential and create a new pigeon that must earn its own name.
Great breeding starts with a question. Are you looking for stronger Sprint potential? More stamina and endurance over distance? Better orientation and navigation under difficult conditions? A complete profile that can remain competitive across several race types?
Without a target, breeding is guesswork. With a target, every pairing becomes a strategic decision. The best parents are not always the two pigeons with the highest visible score. They are the two profiles that make sense together.
Every pigeon carries three genotype markers that help describe inherited racing tendencies.
What are the Markers and what is the Player-facing meaning
LDHA - THE ENGINE; Energy use, muscle efficiency and endurance-related potential.
DRD4 - THE RACE MIND; Drive, learning, decision-making and competitive behavior.
CRY1 - THE COMPASS; Navigation, direction, perception and route-finding tendencies.
Across the planned breeding system, those markers create 54 genotype combinations. Each combination is one layer of the offspring’s potential—not a complete prediction. Abilities, bloodline, breed type, development, race fit and the competition still matter.
More than 200 visual variations
Breeding is not only a new statistics panel. The planned system includes more than 200 visual variations, allowing later generations to enter the game with distinct appearances as well as new genetic combinations. The goal is recognizable lineage without creating copies. Offspring can carry a family resemblance while still arriving as an individual competitor with its own identity, profile and future history.
Before pairing two pigeons, study what they have shown. Look at abilities, race history, Favorite Distance, average speed, consistency, conditions, genotypes, bloodline and breed type. One parent may contribute explosive race potential. The other may offer stamina, health, route efficiency or navigational strength. A pairing can reinforce a quality that already exists, balance a weakness or pursue a combination not yet present in your Loft.
Pedigree gives context. It shows where performance came from and which traits have appeared across earlier generations. It does not guarantee the offspring. The new pigeon still has to prove itself.
Breeding creates a new pigeon with its own combination of inherited potential. It is not a clone of the faster parent, and it is not a simple average of two profiles. Strengths can combine in unexpected ways. Weaknesses can appear. A pairing that looks perfect on paper may produce a specialist, a balanced competitor or a bird that needs a completely different development plan. That uncertainty is the point. Breeding creates possibility. Racing reveals what was actually created.
Generation 1 is the original VPR population and is permanently limited to 60,000 pigeons. Later generations enter through breeding, with each generation showing how far the pigeon is removed from the foundation supply. That makes every player part of the population’s future. VPR creates the foundation. The community decides which profiles are paired, which traits are pursued and which bloodlines earn the chance to continue.
Under the planned distribution, 70% of Ultra Rare pigeons will enter VPR through breeding. They cannot all be selected from the opening population. Players must create the combinations that bring them into the game. That makes Ultra Rare breeding a long-term achievement rather than a simple purchase decision. Rarity still does not guarantee a champion. It creates a scarce starting point that must be developed and proven through racing.
BIRTH IS THE START. RACING BUILDS THE PROFILE.
A capable youngster is only the beginning. Enter it in the right races and gather enough information to understand where it belongs. Compare its performance with its parents, siblings and other pigeons from the same line. Look for progress, consistency and traits worth carrying forward. The strongest breeders do not judge a bloodline by one result. They build evidence across generations.
Over time, your breeding choices can create recognizable character. Your Loft may become known for explosive Sprint racers, reliable distance birds, precise navigators, resilient competitors or balanced pigeons that stay effective across changing conditions.
Every pairing adds a new branch to the story. Every race decides which branches deserve to continue. Build carefully. The next champion may begin with the decision you make before it is born.
