Each pigeon’s journey is permanently recorded on the blockchain, ensuring transparency, authenticity, and true ownership for every player. As pigeons compete, their core attributes — speed, stamina, endurance, and intelligence — can improve through performance and experience. Their full race histories are documented, increasing their uniqueness and value within the ecosystem. Breeding introduces genetic variation, allowing new traits to emerge and existing ones to strengthen or evolve. Over time, these factors shape each pigeon’s genetic profile, making it a truly one-of-a-kind digital asset. Players can trace the complete lifecycle of every pigeon — from origin and lineage to race performance and breeding history — directly on the blockchain. Generation 1
Generation 1 pigeons represent the foundation of Virtual Pigeon Racing. They are the first and only pigeons created directly by the system — a limited initial population of 60,000. Each Generation 1 pigeon possesses a carefully balanced mix of traits, strengths, and weaknesses, forming the genetic base for all future breeding lines. Their diversity makes them highly valuable, both as original collectibles and as the cornerstone for establishing competitive bloodlines. Owning a Generation 1 pigeon means owning a piece of the game’s genetic history.
Bloodlines
All pigeons in VPR belong to one of four major bloodlines: Hurricane, Typhoon, Cyclone, and Tornado. Each bloodline carries its own rarity, characteristics, and breeding potential, influencing how pigeons perform and evolve. Within each bloodline are six breed types — Silver, Emerald, Sapphire, Gold, Platinum, and Diamond — each offering unique trait combinations and potential outcomes. Strategic breeding across bloodlines and breed types allows players to cultivate new generations with enhanced racing attributes and rare genetic profiles. Mastering the bloodline system is key to producing true champions.
Abilities and Genotypes
Every pigeon is defined by a set of ten core abilities that determine its performance in races: Motivation, Intelligence, Power, Speed, Stamina, Endurance, Health, Fitness, Orientation, and Navigation. These attributes work together to shape a pigeon’s flight behavior, decision-making, and resilience during competition. Beneath these abilities lie three primary genotypes — DRD4, LDHA, and CRY1 — genetic markers that influence essential traits such as navigational instinct, flight power, and endurance. Understanding how these genotypes interact enables players to make informed breeding and training decisions, optimizing pigeons for specific race types, conditions, and strategies.
